Position: TEACH Program Coordinator
Location: Downtown Oakland, at the 12th St-Oakland BART stop
Pay: Start at $30/hour with room for growth
Hours: 32hours/week; flexible scheduling allowed


Program Description:
The TEACH (Training in Early Abortion for Comprehensive Healthcare) Program is an academic-community partnership focused on expanding reproductive health access by helpingprimary care residencies and clinicians to integrate comprehensive reproductive health into their practice through curriculum development, training, mentoring, professional advocacy, research and dissemination. TEACH is comprised of a dynamic team of mission-driven professionals. We are conveniently located at the University of California, San Francisco’s (UCSF) Advancing New Standards in Reproductive Health (ANSIRH) office in downtown Oakland, where we collaborate with UCSF faculty, as well as national leaders in reproductive health.

Primary Responsibilities:
The full-time Program Coordinator will be responsible for administrative support, grant writing, financial management, program communications and website maintenance for TEACH. Generally speaking, this position keeps the TEACH program running smoothly throughout every aspect of our work. Although primarily working independently, s/he will collaborate with three part-time physician colleagues.

Specific Duties:

  • Independently handling a wide range of funding, communication, and administrative
  • projects, including information that may be sensitive and / or confidential
  • Writing grants that support the program; managing financial and budgetary aspects of the program
  • Communicating with physicians, advisory members, funders, academic and national partners
  • Managing the program’s website and social media presence
  • Supporting programmatic activities including, but not limited to:
    • Creating and updating program evaluations
    • Entering, analyzing, editing, and distributing program evaluation data and research
    • Online scheduling
    • Helping to plan and facilitate strategic meetings related to clinical training, collaboration, and research
    • Coordinating opportunities for information dissemination including via reproductive health conferences

Required Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, public policy or a related field
  • Commitment to and enthusiasm for comprehensive reproductive healthcare
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent computer and web-based skills and demonstrated proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and email
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • High level of organization and careful attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work with people from diverse communities
  • Flexibility and creative approaches to problem-solving

Preferred Education and Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • Experience in non-profit, public health, academic, program development, and/or medical research settings
  • One or more years programmatic or administrative experience in reproductive health
  • Experience designing, implementing and / or evaluating educational programs for health professionals
  • Experience with budgets and grant management
  • Experience in administrative and programmatic support
  • Experience with meeting facilitation
  • Experience with data entry and database software
  • Experience with web design (html, WordPress) and MailChimp
  • Experience in managing social media
